The Telrad Dew Shield helps keep condensation from forming on the glass plate of your Telrad. It attaches to the back of the Telrad unit on hinges using existing screws, and swivels into place to shield the combining glass slowing dew condensation. It is made of lightweight yet strong ABS plastic.

      I have one of these on all my Telrads. Wouldn't be without it! As always, dealing with Agena Astro is an A++++ experience, they are the best.

      5.0 Dew Shield for Telrad Reflex Finder # 2020

      This dew shield was relatively easy to put on my Telrad and was easy to adjust with the screws (tighten and loosen). The only thing to remember is to actually put it back down when you've found what you were looking for. I would often get distracted looking for the primary object in the eye piece and forget to put the shield back down (or turn off the Telrad for that matter). When I did remember, it works quite well. When the humidity is high, though, the Telrad will still fog up some, even with the shield.

      3.0 Nice but overpriced

      Clever idea for minimizing dew formation on the reflector plate of a telrad and it appears to work pretty well.

      Pros:
      Inhibits dew formation without the need for a heater.
      Simple to use and no wires.

      Cons:
      Way too expensive for a piece of molded plastic.
      Shield relies on friction to keep it in place, detents for operating and shielding positions would better.

      In the end, modding your telrad with an RCA jack and resistor located at the base of the reflector plate might be the better way to go.

      Easy to attach and use on the Telrad finder. Follow the well written instructions. Then rotate the dew shield up into position to use the finder, and then rotate the dew shield down to protect the Telrad. No problems!!
