Manufacturer Description

GSO has enhanced the mechanical design of some of their most popular eyepieces to create an effective and innovative eyepiece that can be used not only for visual observations, but also for variable projection photography through a telescope. This new series Camera Projection Lens (CP Lens) is perfect for use with compact Digital or SLR cameras.

The top of this 1.25" eyepiece features a standard T / T2 male thread (M42x0.75) that can be exposed by unscrewing a threaded guard. Using a T-ring specific to your camera brand (not included), you can connect your camera easily to this eyepiece. This combination can be inserted into any telescope with a 1.25" focuser tube. The outer sleeve / barrel of the CP Lens eyepiece can then be adjusted to move upward or downward for optimum viewing performance, and can be extended until you have reached its perfect viewing position for your imaging needs.

The Ploss CPL eyepiece series features fully multi-coated lenses, good apparent fields of view, excellent contrast, and the convenience of a versatile photography adapter and eyepiece in one intergated accessory for your telescope.

4.0 Need Larger Field of View

      Pros:

      Easy to Use

      Cons:

      Comments:

I use the lens to acquire objects with my NexStar 8SE because the mount is finicky. By using the 40mm eyepiece I get the object in the field of view every time. I should have done this sooner.

      5.0 A Steal

      Pros:

      Accurate,Quality Lenses,Easy to Use,Strong Construction

      Cons:

      Comments:

I recently recieved this eyepiece as a gift. Not knowing how much it was I assumed this was a $150+ EP. It's extremely well built and works great for both projection photography and visual observation. My only complaint is that I wish they made these in more than just two focal lengths.

      5.0 Excellent Quality and Verstatility

      Pros:

      Quality Lenses,Strong Construction,Versatile,Easy to Use

      Cons:

      Comments:

During the recent transit of Venus I spent an hour struggling with a small digital camera to get handheld afocal images through a 26mm eyepiece that had a too narrow FOV for the subject. Then I discovered that Agena was offering these excellent GSO eyepieces that could almost instantly be attached directly to my CCD imagers and NexImage webcam via a T thread for afocal work with a decent wide-field lens set. So I bought the 32mm and 40mm. I now see that Agena has a 42mm and I may have to order that. These lenses also function as outstanding eyepieces and are extremely well made. The price is outstanding. I am quite satisfied with the eyepieces and always satisfied with Agena's excellent customer service.
