Manufacturer Description
GSO's Super-Plossl eyepieces have been some of our most popular sellers over the years. Users will experience incredible views without breaking the bank or impinging on your telescope's balance. They represent what is perhaps the best buy today for astronomers on a budget or for beginners. But don't be fooled by their low prices - these might well turn out to be all the eyepieces you will ever need!
The GSO Super-Plossls are available in a 1.25" barrel size and 9 different focal lengths ranging from 4mm to 40mm. The 4mm, 6mm and 9mm models are great for high power planetary and lunar observation. The 12mm and 15mm are perfect intermediate focal lengths, performing well on both deep-sky and planetary subjects. The 20mm and 25mm models would be excellent choices for low power scanning of open star clusters and viewing larger galaxies. The 32mm and 40mm models offer a wide field and are superb for wide field scanning, detailed observations of large diffuse subjects or as a finder eyepiece.
Features:
- All eyepieces are fully multicoated (FMC) for maximum light transmission
- High quality lenses provide the best-possible sharpness all over the field of view
- Blackened lens edges reduce light scattering and improve contrast
- Fold-down rubber eyecups to keep out stray light
- Comfortable eye relief at all but the shortest focal lengths (As in all Plossl eyepieces, eye relief can get tight at the shorter focal lengths but this is design constraint, not a fault of these eyepieces)
- Includes two end caps

Oct 3, 2017Best eyepiece I have
Pros: Cons: Comments:I use this eyepiece on open clusters and nebula, like the Orion Nebula. This eyepiece is the most crisp and contasty of all I own. Exceptional construction.

Jul 30, 2013Good as my Pro Optic 20mm
Pros:Optical performance,Good Match For Pro Optic
Cons:None
Comments:I bought this eyepiece to use in my binoviewer with an old Pro Optic 20mm Plossl eyepiece. I was fortunate that this eyepiece is nearly identical to my Pro Optic eyepiece in terms of eye relief, FOV, and sharpness. And at nearly half the price that I paid for the Pro Optic, this was a very good deal.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
I will not hesitate to seriously consider other GSO ep's in the future. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Nov 4, 2011Why Pay More?
Pros:Strong Construction,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:These are my favorite plossls. Why pay more for the expensive brands when the fit, finish and optics of these rival the very best?

Dec 27, 2010A good quality/price eyepiece
Pros:Quality Lenses,Strong Construction,Compact
Cons: Comments:It's not a TV plossl in terms of sharpness and contrast but for the low price of this eyepiece, it's a very good bargain.

Dec 22, 2010Very Nice EP!!!
Pros:Great Images Across FOV,Strong Construction,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:I have always been a fan of GSO EP's in general and this one as with the others is no exception. The images it gives are clear and crisp across the entire FOV. Its construction, fit and finish are top notch and in a world of boutique EP's, this EP as with all other GSO EP's are a very strong foundation to any kit. The Plossl EP had been the work horse of astronomers for a 100+ years and GSO in keeping with the true design as really created something special in this series.

Jun 7, 2010Excellent Mid-Power EP!!!
Pros:Quality Lenses,Sharp images
Cons: Comments:I picked up this EP as a part of my effort to fill out and round out my EP collection. My main focus was to acquire an EP that would give me a 4mm exit pupil in my 80mm f/5 and this fits that bill perfectly. Also Plossls are known to work very well in fast widefield scopes and this one did not disappoint. I used it last night for the first time and the images were exceptionally clear and crisp and stars especially were very well resolved. At this combination the background sky darkened up enough for me to be able to see mag 10 galaxies in mag 6-7 skies. I am extremely happy with this EP and for the money, who could argue? The only one small problem that I encountered was that I felt the eye relief was a bit tight, but that could be me as up until now I was using very long focal length EP's almost exclusively.

Jan 18, 2010Cost-effective
Pros:Compact,Strong Construction,Quality Lenses,Accurate
Cons: Comments:Cost-effective, high quality finish, clear image, comes with a case and protective covers, have a good eye relief.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
In my Newtonian Reflector 130mm and 970mm focal length it provides a 48.5 x zoom, with a good view of Jupiter and its moons, Orion, and also Use with a digital camera with good pictures of our Moon.
Much higher compared lenses generic Chinese. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Nov 7, 2009Good value for the money!
Pros:Quality Lenses,Strong Construction,Compact
Cons: Comments:I use this 20mm eyepiece in a Orion 80mm f/5 Short Tube refractor which is the view finder for my 20" Dob and it works perfectly. Good field of view, sharp optics, excellent value. I recommend it.

Feb 2, 2009Best Bargain Priced Plossl Eyepiece
Pros:Inexpensive,Great Planetary Eyepiece,High Contrast
Cons:Low Snob Appeal
Comments:This is the best value in plossl eyepieces that I've found. They come with a nice bolt case and have full multi coatings. I compared it in my PST and 100ED to identical Televue's and couldn't determine the difference optically. The TV's have a more expensive "feel" (as they should for 3x the price!). I intend to buy most of the set.
