Manufacturer Description
GSO's Super-Plossl eyepieces have been some of our most popular sellers over the years. Users will experience incredible views without breaking the bank or impinging on your telescope's balance. They represent what is perhaps the best buy today for astronomers on a budget or for beginners. But don't be fooled by their low prices - these might well turn out to be all the eyepieces you will ever need!
The GSO Super-Plossls are available in a 1.25" barrel size and 9 different focal lengths ranging from 4mm to 40mm. The 4mm, 6mm and 9mm models are great for high power planetary and lunar observation. The 12mm and 15mm are perfect intermediate focal lengths, performing well on both deep-sky and planetary subjects. The 20mm and 25mm models would be excellent choices for low power scanning of open star clusters and viewing larger galaxies. The 32mm and 40mm models offer a wide field and are superb for wide field scanning, detailed observations of large diffuse subjects or as a finder eyepiece.
Features:
- All eyepieces are fully multicoated (FMC) for maximum light transmission
- High quality lenses provide the best-possible sharpness all over the field of view
- Blackened lens edges reduce light scattering and improve contrast
- Fold-down rubber eyecups to keep out stray light
- Comfortable eye relief at all but the shortest focal lengths (As in all Plossl eyepieces, eye relief can get tight at the shorter focal lengths but this is design constraint, not a fault of these eyepieces)
- Includes two end caps

Nice Hi-Power EP
Pros: Cons: Comments:When I use a Hi-Power EP, this is the one that is most often employed. At 6mm, of eye relief, this is about my limit before I need to invest a bit more money for my comfort. It provides, very crisp views and great color with no fringing that I have noticed. For the price, I can live with the 6mm of eye relief. It preforms great on slower scopes. I use mine on an f/8, and have been exceptionally pleased.

Oct 4, 2016This is the best you can get for the price.
Pros:Compact,Strong Construction,Accurate,Quality Lenses,Easy to Use,Lightweight
Cons: Comments:At this price point, you can't go wrong. The optics are pretty good and have no problems so far in about a year of use. Its reasonably comfortable and easy to use. I bought the 6mm and the 9mm, as I already own the 32mm and 40mm. Unless your using the highest quality and the most expensive gear, this is the brand to get.

Dec 1, 2012Quality and bargain
Pros:Bargain,Sharp Picture,Quality
Cons: Comments:Great bang for the buck. I use this mostly for viewing the planets and the moon with my 8 inch Dob. The moon looks very clear and sharp and still looks sharp with the 2x Barlow. So far I've only been able to see Jupiter but I was able to clearly make out cloud bands and the Galilean Moons. Can't wait to see Saturn. Highly recommended if you don't want to spend big money

Nov 30, 2012Affordable replacement
Pros:Fully Black Coated Inside,Quality Lenses,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:Affordable replacement of a standard 9 mm eyepiece that normally are supplied with telescopes. Those are cheaper, but have a plastic body, which can cause some reflection inside. This GSO has a metal body, fully black coated inside.

Jul 2, 2012Great results for the cost
Pros:Lightweight,Easy to Use,Compact,Accurate,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:I live a few miles outside Los Angeles in the suburbs and even with all of our light pollution, and actual pollution, I'm still able to get great views with this eyepieces. While somewhat limited by the sky conditions, I can still make out the Cassini division and some banding on Saturn through my Orion xt8. DSO's are definitely a possibility too once I get to some darker skies.

May 22, 2009Excellent value for the price
Pros:Crisp images,Quality
Cons:None at the moment
Comments:This eyepiece from GSO is very good, the images are formed very well, even in the borders. I use this eyepiece for great magnification with objects like M42, Pleiades, Jewel Box and other DSOs. I use it mostly for planets and nebulae viewing. The coatings are very good too. It has a good eye-relief, especially if you wear glasses.
