GSO has enhanced the mechanical design of some of their most popular eyepieces to create an effective and innovative eyepiece that can be used not only for visual observations, but also for variable projection photography through a telescope. This new series Camera Projection Lens (CP Lens) is perfect for use with compact Digital or SLR cameras.
The top of this 2" eyepiece features an integral M57 male thread that can be exposed by unscrewing a threaded guard. Using an M57-T2 adapter and a T-ring specific to your camera brand (both sold separately), you can connect your camera to this eyepiece. This combination can be inserted into any telescope with a 2" focuser tube. The outer sleeve / barrel of the CP Lens eyepiece can then be adjusted to move upward or downward for optimum viewing performance, and can be extended until you have reached its perfect viewing position for your imaging needs.
The SuperView CPL eyepiece series features fully multi-coated lenses, generous apparent fields of view, excellent contrast, and the convenience of a versatile photography adapter and eyepiece in one intergated accessory for your telescope.

Cons: Comments:Great eyepiece for afocal projection astrophotography and also for just viewing. Good construction with durable finish. The weight is not a factor for me, but may be for mounts that can not handle the load. I would recommend this eyepiece in the medium price range of eyepieces. Lens quality is great.

Cons: Comments:This eyepiece allows me to mount my compact digital camera directly onto the eyepiece without those clunky camera holders that are so difficult to line up. I instantly got some great pics of M42 and Andromeda galaxy that I had previously been unable to image well on my very first use. Lenses could be a bit better but for the price, this eyepiece kicks butt, even for visual astronomy. Very well made and should last for years. This is a GREAT addition to your box if you do any imaging with compact digital cameras.

Cons: Comments:Overall, very pleased with this purchase. Construction of the eyepiece is very good with a good amount of heft but not exceptionally heavy.

Optical quality, too, is good with generous eye relief and wide field of view.
When coupled with the M57-to-T Thread Adapter and proper T-ring for your DSLR camera, astrophotography got a bit easier for an astrophoto novice like myself, especially with focusing issues that were encountered with prime focus photography.
The only downside for me, since it came with no instructions, was a little uncertainty separating the the top of the eyepiece from its body exposing the threads to attach the M57 T adapter. The sections were securely attached and it did take a little effort to safely detach them.
