      I had heard and read quite a bit about this barlow and all of the comments were quite positive. I was lucky enough to snare one on the Astromart classified site for about $45. The unit lives up to all of the hype, and then some.

      This 2" barlow uses a brass compression ring to hold your ocular in place, and the lens housing is able to be unscrewed from the barrel and placed onto the eyepiece barrel itself, reducing the total weight of the barlow + eyepiece combination.

      Like any good barlow, this unit did not add any noticeable distortions or aberrations to the visual field. This barlow performs beautifully with any 2" eyepiece thrown at it, and with a 2" to 1.25" adapter, it can pretty much stay in place at the diagonal, adding quite a bit of versatility to your viewing options.

      A testament to its build quality is when I dropped this barlow from about four feet high onto a concrete floor. The lens stayed intact, and suffered no damage. There was only a small dent where the unit made impact with the floor.

      The barlow is now out of production, but can be found on the secondary market. It is well worth the effort to seek out.

      This was a fantastic 2" barlow lens! When I had a 2" focuser I always used this rather than the 1.25" 2x barlow. Quality-made throughout the barlow. Shows excellent views with almost any type of eyepiece. This came with a 1.25" adapter so it kinda just stayed put.

      Very nice multi-coated greenish optics and the Moon and Saturn were mind blowing. I sure miss my 2" 2x barlow but glad to write this review. Don't waste any time and buy one for your collection. Comes with a large bolt case and caps. I loved it. For under $70 shipped also :-))
