Solid, well-machined and nicely designed
Pros: Cons: Comments:Solid, well-machined and nicely designed with large, knob-like tightening bolts. I under-estimated the tube diameter I needed for my ED triplet but these did the job with the extra 'play' in the bolt design. You get what you pay for.

Dec 23, 2018Work perfectly
Pros: Cons: Comments:I used these to attach an 80mm OTA to a Unitron 114 mount. Even though the tube is only 86mm in diameter, these provide a solid connection when tightened all the way down. Just be aware that it is necessary to buy 6mm screws at the length needed, in order to use them.

May 13, 2018Great product but recommend supplying bolts for dovetail.
Pros: Cons: Comments:I bought these rings for an old Meade DS90EC, a 90mm refractor I’ve had for years. The scope originally came with a shaky alt-az mount. Recently I’ve bought an Orion SkyView Pro equatorial mount. These tube rings fit perfectly around the OD of the 90mm telescope. The only issue I ran into was a lack of bolts to mount to a dovetail so that I can get the scope mounted. I recommend finding out the bolt size and thread pitch before perchacing so you can at least make the trip to the hardware store while your waiting on shipping.

Sep 15, 2017Excellent upgrade for Orion Astroview 90 Tube Rings
Pros: Cons: Comments:These rings are well-made and light-weight. The thumb screws are huge and easy to work, even with gloves on. They are a very inexpensive, high-quality upgrade to the cheap tube rings that Orion packs with its excellent Astroview 90 telescopes.

Aug 19, 2017Tube rings
Pros: Cons: Comments:Bought these rings to use on my Orion ST80. Also bought the GSO focuser for this scope and new V-bar. Wanted a solid, compact small scope for the eclipse. This is perfect

Aug 5, 2017Very functional 90mm tube rings
Pros: Cons: Comments:I bought these rings to mount an Orion ST80 refractor on a small tracking mount. They are lighter weight than some rings, and that was important for me in this application. They work very well and I am pleased with the product. A minor quibble is that the rings require metric bolts to mount, and these are not provided as part of the product.

Jul 1, 2017Good for for my old Meade 90mm
Pros: Cons: Comments:I needed rings for my older Meade 90mm telescope. It fit with ease then mounted easily to the dovetail mounts. Now that I have it mounted to my Exos-2 mount, the is much more enjoyable!

May 17, 2017They hold the tube solidly
Pros: Cons: Comments:It does use 1/4" bolts to secure the ring to the mount. I mounted it on a Vixen style dovetail w/ 6mm holes, this required a little modification, using drill press & a 15/64 bit and a larger bit to make countersink holes to accommodate the bolt heads in the dovetail.

Mar 22, 2017Just what I needed
Pros: Cons: Comments:These were a perfect fit for my new Orion ST80. They are very well built with knobs that are easy to turn. Agena was nice enough to provide the weight even when I asked.

Feb 17, 2017GSO 90mm tube rings
Pros: Cons: Comments:Recommended. These rings are well made. I bought these to use with both a ST90 and 900mm 90mm scopes which have slightly different tube diameters and they work well with both. The latch is more convenient to use than some other brands because I only have to be unscrewed it part way and swung open to change scopes where with some others have to be completely unscrewed. These do not have a camera stud or threaded holes for an accessory attachment which is not a problem in my use.

Mar 11, 2016Perfect for 90mm refractors
Pros:Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:This set of rings work perfect for 90mm reflectors or 80mm Ed (apo), sometimes I change it from scope to scope, they work perfect.

Oct 8, 2015Perfect!
Pros:Lightweight,Easy to Use,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:Great value! Used these to refurbish my old Orion Short-Tube 90 (the resin mount that held the 1/4-20 tripod disintegrated!). It's like a new scope now.

Jul 7, 2015High Quality Bargain, But Wish It Had Vixen Threads
Pros:Easy to Use,Accurate,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:The rings perfectly fit my 90mm Orion ShortTube refractor. However, I use it for imaging so the standard small mount plate needed to be removed to allow for the aft CG with a camera, Barlow, and new focuser. That requires the Vixen 12" dovetail, but the threads for these rings are 6mm, which don't match the Vixen standard nor the original Orion attachment bolt.

Jun 26, 2015Good tube rings
Pros:Compact,Easy to Use,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:Use this for my Orion ST80 as a guide scope. Clam shells hold the tube tightly with no slop.

Feb 21, 2015Great Value
Pros:Accurate,Lightweight,Strong Construction,Easy to Use,Compact
Cons: Comments:I use these rings with my Short Tube 80 guidescope. They clamp well without overtightening, and the clamp knobs are easy to use while wearing gloves. They do everything I wanted them to do, at lower cost than some inferior rings.

Feb 2, 2015Perfect
Pros:Lightweight,Compact,Strong Construction,Accurate,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:The rings fit my Celestron/Vixen first scope tube perfectly. Light weight, excellent construction, good price. If I need rings in the future, I'm checking here first. Albert

Jan 31, 2015Solid rings
Pros:Strong Construction,Easy to Use,Accurate
Cons: Comments:These rings are of solid construction and perform their function perfectly. A good buy. For reference these are being using my white tube ES ED80 80mm.

Oct 17, 2014Simple and functional - a good thing
Pros:Lightweight,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:These tube mounting rings are built better than the typical cast aluminum tube mounting rings included with many common refractors. They have a more solid feel, and use more substantial hardware. The design of the base doesn't allow the ends of the dovetail mounting bolts to protrude towards the OTA. The long plastic hand knobs with brass inserts are very easy to rotate in cold weather.

Oct 17, 2014You may need this on your 80mm refractor
Pros:Nice Finished,Strong Construction,Price,Easy to Use
Cons:A little bit heavy
Comments:I use these rings with the ST-80, no more flexure in my guiding gear, I would recommend it.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesThis review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Jul 2, 2014Perfect fit and function
Pros:Lightweight,Strong Construction,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:PERFECT!!! Fit my Sellarvue 80ED tube like a glove. I like the tall adjustment knobs because they are easy to find and use in the dark. Thanks for everything you've done for me Agena. It's all been appreciated and you're the best.

Apr 11, 2014Perfect for a grab and go ST-80 or ED-80
Pros:Lightweight,Compact,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:These rings will fit a Celestron ED-80 or an Orion ST-80 perfectly. They grab the tube very securely and it will not slip even with a heavy camera or diagonal and eyepiece. I would happily buy more of these whenever I need them in the future.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesThis review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Jan 26, 2014Good value for the money

Apr 8, 2013Satisfied..
Pros:Strong Construction,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:I bought this item for mounting Celestron 80mm guidescope on Edge HD 11'". It was stable and I am satisfied with this item..
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
One drawback is, in my item, one fixation knob screw is shorter while another one is normal length, so I always am careful not to drop off the knob. It aggravates me a little. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com

Mar 24, 2013Perfect match for Orion ST80
Pros:Easy to Use,Lightweight,Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:I was looking for a pair of rings to mount my ST80 that didn't have the drilled & tapped holes on top. These fit the bill perfectly. Agena Astro has outstanding service & selection. They have proved to be best source for hard to find items, such as eyepiece caps and plugs.

Feb 16, 2013Quality with economy
Pros:Easy to Use,Lightweight,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:These rings are very good for the price. The ring has a wide enough width for strong and secure hold on the OTA. Good solid felt all the way around to protect the OTA. Though they are cast rather than machined, they are done very well and provide a good flex free mounting. I find them perfect for mounting a guide scope on top of an imaging scope using accessory adapters mounted to the rings.

Jun 3, 2011Better Than Expected

Cons: Comments:Ordered these to mount my Meade 390 refractor on my CG-5 mount. They work great. Easy to adjust when necessary, but honestly, I just put them on and forgot about them. They work exactly as they should.
