A good one
Pros:Great views of any DSOs. Price is right. Very good construction.
Cons:Excessive eye relief when used with barlow.
Comments:I purchased this eyepiece approximately 4 yrs ago to fill in a magnification gap I had. I choose this brand as I had used other GTO eyepieces and was happy with the performance. Also note that they come with a good price for the product
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
The construction of this eyepiece is first rate. It has the fit and fill of a premium plossl. The large lens reveals a green glow to the optics. They are multi coated.
With use one can tell this is a very good EP. All views through all scopes (fast or slow) are good, clear, and clean. Works very well on clusters, galaxies, and nebulae. Works well with various filters such as the Orion SkyGlow and UltraBlock. No curvature, glare, nor chromatic aberration was observable. The edge of the FOV is well defined.
Can be used with a barlow. At times, it presented a problem with excessive eye relief in barlow use. This is a common problem with this type of EP.
I finally sold this EP when I came into an Orion 25MM Sirius plossl. However, it was difficult in choosing which EP was the best. Both produced similar views. Highly recommended especially for the price.Sort by
