      Comments:

I got this to mount the ST80 guidescope onto my imaging scope. That's right...I have used this camera mount instead of guide rings. The ST80 has been left at its native focal length and my photos have been okay, but they say a guide scope should be close to the same focal length as the imaging scope. When I try to put a barlow on the guidescope, then it gets very difficult to find a guide star. I think I will have to switch to guide rings for the guide scope.

I have also used this as it was designed....to hold a camera and take photos that way. It was very easy to use and performed very well. The mount was easy to fine tune and held position perfectly. Definitely recommended if you want to use a camera for wide angle shots while mounted on a scope...which is very easy to do and, unlike astrophotography through a scope, just using the camera and lens by themselves you almost always get great wide-angle astrophotos.
