Manufacturer Description
Meade 505 Connector Cable Set #07505. Allows connection of a Meade model 497 AutoStar to a PC or laptop. When used with appropriate software it allows for telescope control from the PC, downloading AutoStar softare updates, and cloning one AutoStar to another so you can share user created databases. Software not included.
Comes with a 3 foot 4 pin to 4 pin cable, a 6 foot 4 pin to 6 pin cable, and a 6 pin to RS-232 serial interface adapter. For use with #497 AutoStar as supplied as standard equipment on the ETX-90, ETX-125, all LXD75, and all LX90 models.
Product carries full one year Meade factory limited warranty (within US/Canada only).

One step closer
Pros: Cons: Comments:Using these cables in combination with the 9 pin to USB brought me closer to updating my Meade 497 AutoStar. Many problems with the software finding the controller. Once that was accomplished using the cables, the Meade Updater would not recognize my internet connection to run firmware and software updates.
