Meade #1401 Tube Balance Weight System for Meade 8" ACF and Schmidt-Cassegrain models. Manufacturer part # 07304.
Balance heavy accessories attached to the front or rear of the telescope with this handy tube weight that attaches easily to the factory-prepared tube of your telescope. Attaches in minutes using existing accessory mounting bolts on your scope. No drilling required. Each set includes a single three pound, single two pound and single one pound weight (total of six pounds) permitting considerable variation in the total weight available for balancing.
Additional two pound weights can be purchased separately. For all 8" LX90 and LX200 models including ACF and older Schmidt-Cassegrain designs.
Product carries full one year Meade factory limited warranty (within US/Canada only).

Meade SCT tube balance system is great
Pros:Use Just The Weight You N,Easy to Use,Accurate,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:Using many accessories piggy back, camera, large eye pieces can cause the motors to work harder to compensate for the added weight. The counterweight balance system is easy to install and use, has 3 different weights. Pick the proper weight(s) and adjust the balance. Motors do not have to struggle and accuracy is better. Nice low profile to the tube, easy to add/remove weight.
