I've used this filter several times to try to capture the clouds on Venus (along with an IR850 filter). Conditions haven't been in my favor, but the filter seems to be doing its job, and I get cloud bands. The filter appears completely dark to the naked eye (as expected), and the UV bands show up, so I can only presume the UV filter is working as advertised.

Overall, this filter appears to be a good alternative to the other brands of UV filters.
