Manufacturer Description

Important Note: This case is compatible only with the Synscan-3 hand controller included with some Orion and Sky-Watcher telescopes. It is not compatible with the newer Synscan-4 hand controller. Please check your hand controller version before ordering this item.

The ProCase Deluxe Soft Case protects your Orion GoTo telescope hand controller against dust, dirt, moisture and accidental drops. The case is made with top grade polyurethane material that looks and feels like real leather. Its unique design features interior foam padding that provides a snug fit for comfort and security. Made of waterproof materials, the ProCase holds up well against moisture from dew and will provide years of protection.

The ProCase is designed to be kept on compatible Orion telescope hand controllers at all times, in order to make full use of its features. LCD screen and buttons are protected by a transparent plastic cover, completely visible in the dark and always fully accessible. The ProCase lets you connect the controller cables with a convenient slot located at the bottom of the case.

With the ProCase on, your Orion telescope hand controller will no longer slip into the holster on your tripod but we’ve added a removable clip-on lanyard that allows you to hang the controller on your telescope or mount instead. You can also slip your hand into the lanyard for a better grip so you don’t accidentally drop or damage your highly sensitive, fragile and costly controller.

This case will work with most Orion hand controllers (whether labeled "SynScan" or not) sold with their Go-To mounts, such as the Atlas, Sirius, SkyView Pro, TeleTrack and others. However, it is not compatible with Orion's new SynScan 4 or Orion's IntelliScope Object Locator (a case for the IntelliScope is available separately).

The ProCase Deluxe Soft Case makes your Orion GoTo Mount more enjoyable to use while protecting it and giving you the added peace of mind. Telescope hand controller shown in photos is not included.

5.0 Second hand controller case I

      Cons:

      Comments:

Second hand controller case I have purchased. I stick a small heater in the back and my controller works great even under extreme cold conditions. It is durable and lasts forever.

      5.0 Unique

      Pros:

      Cons:

      Comments:

Works to protect my controller from light impacts/scrapes and keeps water off to a certain extent and is generally a very useful accessory. Does not impede use of the buttons or readability of the display.

      5.0 works great

      Pros:

      Cons:

      Comments:

I bought this for my azeq6. The mount controller velcro fell off in the cold. This resulted in me having to hang up the controller in the spreader tray on the legs of the tripod. It consistently fell and tugged on itself and I never liked that. Eventually I'd have to buy a new controller or fix the loose connection by solder. Both cases, this turned out to be a much cheaper , preventative option.

I hang it up on the head of the mount around some knobs. It is easily accessible, and now is protected from the elements.
