60 Small-Scope Tours
Pros:Very enjoyable read; Monthly tours; Targets for 4" scopes.
Cons:No hardcover design
Comments:I've always enjoyed the monthly installments of Sue French's Small-Sampler in Sky and Telescope magazine. She has the ability to communicate the wonders of the universe without being too technical or overwhelming. So, it was a nice surprise to see a compilation of many of her columns condensed into a book that was geared for amateur astronomers who more than likely owned telescopes in the 4" or larger range.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
The book has numerous finder charts, photos and celestial targets that will keep you busy year round. The tours are broken down on a monthly basis and list all of the familiar targets, but also some that you may not be acquainted with. What a wonderful way to plan your observing schedule months in advance!
Again, this is a wonderful and enjoyable book. It can be ordered from Amazon.Com or Orion and usually sells around $25 for a new copy. Buy this book and I'm sure you'll be using it more often than you imagined.Sort by
