Just as Tele Vue's Delos eyepieces were developed based on their Ethos eyepiece design advancements, DeLite is the logical step toward a smaller, more economical and lightweight version of Delos. Named DeLite because that best describes the viewing experience, the name also recognizes TeleVue designer Paul Dellechiaie's work.
The DeLite eyepieces have a 1.25" barrel and provide a 62° apparent field of view. DeLite eyepieces retain the pure optical quality of Delos along with 20mm eye-relief, unique sliding, locking eyeguard, and are Dioptrx-ready. All DeLite models are parfocal with Tele Vue's 1.25" Plossl, Panoptic, Nagler, and Delos eyepieces.
The DeLite series is a delightful addition to Tele Vue's visionary line of eyepiece developments.

Awesome performancePros: Cons: Comments:
This eyepiece is easily one of my favorites in quite a large collection.
It is sharp, clear, contrasty, comfortable, and easy to take in the view with.
I also have an 11mm TeleVue Plossl which is just about the clearest eyepiece I've ever looked through, and the 11 DeLite keeps up with it easily, while providing a far more comfortable viewing experience.
The 11 DeLite is hands down my favorite lunar eyepiece. The way a bright moon shrinks your pupil tends to be problematic for wider angle, long eye relief eyepieces with large eye lenses. Moving your eye around to examine the field in those other eyepieces can cause blackouts or odd color shifts. That is not the case with the DeLite. It's the perfect combination of eye relief, apparent field, and optical quality for lunar observing.
It provides a perfectly neutral color tone and outstanding contrast.
My only complaint is that it relies on an adjustable eye guard to help you position your eye at the correct distance. This means if you like to keep your eye guard retracted to save space in your case, you have to adjust it each time.
The other complaint is that TeleVue field lens caps are WAY too tight. When it's cold out, it's impossible to get the 1.25" field lens cap off without inadvertently moving the adjustable eye guard. I have this problem on every one of my TeleVue Deloi and Delites. I strongly recommend picking up some low profile 1.25" replacement caps (Agena sells these) to make it easier to get the caps on and off.

James hit it on the head with his review. I own 3 Naglers but this eyepiece, to me, is the best. For my age, 72, it allows me to see a wonderful field and the optics couldn't be better.

DeLite 11mmPros: Cons: Comments:
I bought this eyepiece as my third in the DeLite series. I like their relatively light weight, eye relief, build quality, and optical qualities. The 62 degree AFV is very natural and has an ease about it when viewing, especially with wide field deep sky objects. There are no eyeball gymnastics to go through to view all these eyepieces have to offer. The 11mm is as good as the rest and a fine fit for my TeleVue refractors. Add to that great contrast and color and you have another winner.
