Televue Radian 8mm Wide view
Pros:Top notch quality/glass & hold their value
Cons:Heavy, expensive, eye adjust can be difficult, some lateral color
Comments:This is the final review of all the Radians I've borrowed and used. Let me say that when using the very high power Radians, i.e. 3mm through 8mm, you need a quality telescope. In using my LX-90 8 inch SCT, the views are much crisper and more pronounced than in my 80mm refractor. When using this 8mm in my LX-90, the bands of Jupiter were almost visible, before using a barlow and visible when using a barlow. Considering all the elements that one looks through with a barlow and eyepiece it's a wonder. Stats: field stop at 8.3mm, 7 elements, weight 1/2 pound and eye relief is 20mm. There is a slight amount of lateral color but not that much considering all the glass you are looking through. These are the very best eyepieces I've ever looked through. To many there could be others as good or better, but I have to tell you what I see, not them.
