Great mounting for my 10 lb binoculars
Pros:Operates smoothly, sturdy, corrosion resistant.
Cons:a bit pricey ($279 at last check)
Comments:I bought the T-mount light to mount my Celestron 25x100 binoculars. (9.5 lbs). When I got the mount I originally put it on a cheap aluminum tripod. Surprisingly this mount worked well there. The only difficulty was the tripod did not go high enough for comfortable standing while viewing. I then mounted them on a 4x4" wooden pier at the proper height so I could walk under it and see zenith. The mount is wonderful. I spend hours with the binoculars scanning the skies (and the ground during the day. The mount is extremely well made with teflon gaskets at the appropriate spots. The counterweight system is easy to use and smooth. There is a little vibration time ~2 secs for the mount to settle with my heavy binoculars, but quite acceptable. The T-mount light is a good solution either on the tripod or the pier.
