Good Looks And Great Performance!
Pros:Well constructed; Top notch materials; Very good looking; 97% reflectivity; Brass compression ring
Cons:Profile may be a little too high for some eyepieces to reach focus
Comments:This is a well constructed diagonal at an unbeatable price. Materials and construction are top notch. A brass compression ring is used to keep your eyepieces in place without marring the barrels.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
The diagonal's side profile is a little high, which can lead to not enough in-travel for some eyepieces. I had this problem when using a 2" Celestron 26mm WA eyepiece with an Orion 100mm f/6 refractor. A 97% reflectivity rating is more academic than a minus over a dielectric diagonal.
This is a beautifully constructed diagonal and one hell of a bargain. You can't go wrong with this one!Jul 1, 2007Williams Optical 2 inch Diagonal
Pros:Super quality manufacturing, great customer service, use on any scope
Cons:Can't think of one
Comments:I replaced my standard 1.25" diagonal that came with the LX-90 I bought 4 years ago with this 2 inch Williams "Super" diagonal. It comes with a 1.25 inch adapter, and it's the finest quality diagonal I've ever used. With the group of amateur astronomers I hang around with, most used this diagonal on their scopes. At around $125.00 its not priced out of sight. I believe its 97% reflectivity is first quality and it's the only accessory I've bought for my scope. Very highly rated.

Pros:Great looking, great performing diagonal.
Cons:Not machined from a single block of aluminum.
Comments:My William Optics diagonal is one piece of equipment that I hardly notice, I just use it and don't worry about it. The optics are excellent and don't appear to detract from image quality at all. It is nice looking and well made; it looks great on all of my refractors. The barrel is threaded for 2" filters as is the 1.25" adapter which is always helpful. Certain eyepieces with deep setscrew recesses can get caught on the compression ring in the 1.25" adapter which can be a problem. If you use a binoviewer or really heavy eyepiece in the diagonal make sure the barrel is tight so it will not come loose from the weight.
