- Straight-Through Guider Mode:

Mechanical Specifications
- Tube diameter = 54.6mm (2.15"); Dewshield diameter = 58.1mm (2.29")
- Tube weight (with diagonal / without eyepiece) = 15.9oz (451g)
- Tube weight (with CCD extension tube / without camera) = 15.0oz (425g)
Finder Rings / Bracket
- 6-point 50mm finder bracket with delrin tipped screws included
- Dovetail base/screw to mount bracket on all William Optics refractors included
- Bracket can also be mounted on other telescopes that use a 5mm or 6mm mounting screw; not compatible with Vixen/Synta-style base
- Bracket weight = 9.5oz (269g)
* Note that not all eyepieces will reach focus in this or any other finder due to the limited focus travel range. Finding a compatible eyepiece that reaches focus may require some trial and error. This is an issue with any finder/spotting scope/guidescope that can accept external eyepieces, and not just with this item.

William Optics 50mm Finder / Guide Scope
Pros: Cons: Comments:As expected with any William Optics product, build quality and optical quality is top notch. Agena Astro provided fast shipping and a good price.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
The provided mounting ring assembly matched well with my WO 132FLT and my AT12RC telescopes. This scope makes it easy to find Go-To alignment stars. The 90 degree diagonal provides an upright, sharp, and bright view but I did find my old Meade 12mm reticle eyepiece would not achieve focus as it needed more in-travel. Five other eyepieces I tried all worked OK. As a guider you use the straight-thru adapter. The helical focuser does rotate the camera but I found if I loosened the thumb screws I could focus without rotating the camera. Once focus is achieved the provided ring locks it all down for a rigid guide platform. If you want a light-weight guide scope with great optical and mechanical quality this is a good choice. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Sep 5, 2014Triple Duty Finder Scope
Pros:Easy to Use,Strong Construction,Accurate,Compact,Quality Lenses,Lightweight
Cons: Comments:I bought this as an aid for astro-imaging to more easily sight my targets, especially at zenith. I already respect William Optics' quality and this item is a good example of it. Matched with the 24mm Agena 1.25" Wireless Illuminated Reticle Eyepiece, its a terrific finder. Add the WO helical extension tube/focuser and it can double as a tracking scope for guided imaging. Unhook it and just mount it to a tripod and it makes a super portable hiking scope. There are less expensive finders out there but none with this combination of quality and versatility.
