Agena 1.25" Starguider Dual ED Eyepiece - 25mm
Excellent in a slow scope
My four-star rating for the 25mm Agena Starguider Dual ED eyepiece is a compromise due to very different performance in fast and slow telescopes. The eyepiece shows a clear and sharp image in my 114mm f/7.9 newtonian reflector. The 60° field of vie...

Celestron 1.25" X-Cel LX Eyepiece - 25mm # 93426
Excellent low-power eyepiece for a fast reflector
I purchased this eyepiece to use with a 130mm f/5 newtonian reflector. It's an excellent match for that telescope. Before trying this eyepiece I tried the 25mm Agena Starguider Dual ED. I was disappointed to find it exhibited serious curvature ...

Explore Scientific 1.25" 82° Series Argon-Purged Waterproof Eyepiece - 8.8mm
Excellent value
I use this with two telescopes, one of them down to f/5. The level of optical correction and its build quality is very good for its price.

Meade Series 4000 2" Super Plossl Eyepiece - 56mm # 07178-02
Outstanding Low Power Eyepiece
This is a really wonderful low cost wide field eyepiece. Very immersive well-corrected views. Probably gives one of the widest fields of view for a 2" eyepiece. Surprisingly comfortable and easy eye placement, much better than similar eyepieces....

Meade Series 5000 1.25" HD-60 Eyepiece - 25mm # 07735
Good crisp eyepiece for the money.
I am using this with a Celestron 5" mak for terred trial viewing. It gives good crisp images. No problem seeing 1/6" holes at 200 yrds. Not a jaw dropping FOV, but perfect for my needs.

Docter 1.25" & 2" 84-deg Ultra Wide Angle UWA Eyepiece - 12.5mm
Docter 12.5 Ultra Wide Angle
The Docter 12.5 Ultra Wide Angle is a beautiful eyepiece to hold or observing with most scopes. At the widest point there is a grip ring to firmly hold this substantial wide angle 2" or 1.25" glass. I have used these in 100mm binoculars to ...

Agena 1.25" Starguider Dual ED Eyepiece - 12mm
I really like this eyepiece.
I recently purchased this eyepiece and used it for several hours on a clear moonless night in my 80 mm f/7 Stellarvue achromat refractor. The eyepiece setup for this scope consists of the 25, 12 and 8 mm Starglider series with a Celestron Ultima Barl...

Good at f/5
I purchased this for use with 130mm f/5 Newtonian reflector. There's astigmatism near the edge of the field, as one would expect with a fast scope, but it's not objectionable. With an inexpensive barlow lens most of the edge astigmatism dis...

Celestron 1.25" Luminos Eyepiece - 15mm # 93432
Great eyepiece
Excellent clarity with a Celestron 127 mm Mak. Need to view without glasses to take advantage of the wide apparent field of view. Nifty eye cups. Easily distinguish 1/6 inch holes @ 200 yrds.

Going back to old-school certainly is refreshing when you have such quality Japanese lenses to look through. Sure they have narrower fields of view compared to the wide Field eyepieces of today. It’s the clarity and “snap” of the image that imm...
